Universal player UHD 4K Samsung UBD-M9500 HDR 10+: la specie si evolve!

A quasi un anno dalla sua presentazione, ma anche a seguito della drastica riduzione dello street price (da 400€ a circa 260€), non senza qualche mal di pancia, mi sono separato dal mio precedente player da battaglia, il Samsung UBD-K8500

per acquistare il nuovo, per così dire , flagship di gamma.

La macchina è praticamente identica alla precedente, mantiene la doppia uscita HDMI (per me fondamentale), in rete legge quanto trova in DLNA e UPnP e su HDMI passa i flussi audio ad oggetti Dolby Atmos e DTS:X, ma ha anche qualche atout in più.

1) Innanzi tutto il telecomando o meglio un telecomando finalmente degno di essere definito tale.
Il superiore è quello della macchina. Sotto il giocattolo fornito con il K8500.

2) La compatibilità WiFi estesa al più performante protocollo AC, perfetto per i flussi UHD, per chi fosse davvero impossibilitato ad utilizzare il cablato.

3) Il promesso upgrade firmware ad HDR10+, per ora previsto solo da questa serie in avanti forse solo per lo streaming.



Da quando è uscito sono stai rilasciati vari upgrade firmware. Attualmente siamo allo 05.

Macchina davvero completissima, per quanto riguarda le App, sempre sotto il sistema proprietario Tizen, come nella migliore tradizione Samsung: si va da Netflix ad Amazon Prime, a Chili, a Rakuten, a YouTube, tanto per nominare le prime che mi vengono in mente tra quelle che consentono scaricamento e visione di contenuti a risoluzione UHD e, alcune, anche in HDR! Questo aspetto la differenzia notevolmente da altre, ben più blasonate, ma prive di quasi tutto.

la macchina, oltre all'HDR10, è una delle prime a supportare anche il nuovo formato HDR dinamico che fa concorrenza al Dolby Vision, il royalties-free HDR 10+.

Difetti? Costruzione economica, non legge i SACD, non è compatibile con Dolby Vision (anche per scelta commerciale, avendo incluso senza sovrapprezzo l'HDR 10+). Ah, come ormai quasi tutte le macchine, non è 3D compliant.
Ma a 260€ direi che pretendere di più è davvero impossibile!

Qui http://www.thedigitalbits.com/item/s...-uhd-bd-player consiglia di settare il formato colore HDMI come ycbcr 4:4:4 e l'HDMI deep color su "OFF".

Sempre sul settaggio, qui https://davidsusilouncensored.wordpr...uhd-bd-player/ dice cose diverse sul deep color, ma aggiunge una cosa interessante: "When the movie is playing, press “Tools” on the remote control and choose “Picture Mode” and set it to “User” for the most unprocessed performance of the UBD-K8500." Una volta partito il film premere sul telecomando il tasto "strumenti/tools" e selezionare "picture mode/modalità di immagine" e scegliere "user/utilizzatore", quella non processata.

Move
1. On the My APPS screen, select the app you want to move, and then press the OK button for 3 seconds.
2. Select Move, and then press the OK button.
3. Use the buttons to move the app.
4. When the app is where you want it, press the OK.

To be more precise you can't move apps between categories. In other words the apps appearing under RECOMMENDED can't be moved to MY APPS and vis-a-versa. As a matter of fact the apps shown in RECOMMENDED can't be moved at all.

In the event there are more than 6 apps you want displayed on the main menu screen that is not possible but all the apps you have installed are located under the big huge SAMSUNG APPS button referred to earlier.

Note, make sure you toggle the Apps screen to Custom View using the Change View option as described below to allow moving apps otherwise it will determine the order based on your most played.

Change View
This function toggles the Apps screen between the Most Played view and the Custom View, which lets you arrange the apps to your liking.
1. On the My APPS screen, select an app, and then press the OK button for 3 seconds.
2. Select Change View, and then press the OK button.
3. Select yes if you want to change the view. Select No if you want to keep the current view.
4. Press OK button.

Procedura per rendere region free la parte dvd del player.
A vostro totale rischio e pericolo.

This will only make the DVD region free NOT the Bluray!

*NOTE* You will also need a TV remote with a return button and number pad that controls the BRP, like a Samsung TV remote.

I can confirm to use the Samsung TV remote to operate your player you will need the following

1.The Blu-ray plugged into the Samsung TV directly with a HDMI cable.. (not thru and AV receiver)
2.The ANYNET feature to be on Both the TV and the Blu-ray player
3.When operating the remote I found pointing it at the TV worked better than the direct to the bluray. I think that's the anynet feature (be sure to test the remote works , if you cant move the cursor around the page , then you cant do anything.) ( I was able to use 2 different Samsung TV remotes)
4.Its all in the timing. I found it took me about 20 attempts till I got it.
5.Before trying the hack , maybe RESET the device to default.. (turn on player , press and hold STOP on bluray player until its states RESETS all to defaults. Run the setup (I skipped the network)
6.If your attempt doesn't work , Unplug the device for a good 15 seconds and then plug in and try again. (don't just turn off)

STEPS 1 to 7 are done with the PLAYERS control panel at the top of the player Steps 8 to 11 use the remote

1. Ensure that there is no disc in the tray.
2. Unplug the mains power to the player wait 15 seconds and then plug back in. This is necessary to reboot the firmware. (u may notice a quick UHD on the TV screen)
Press the power button on the player,But note, I found that pressing the EJECT also turn on the device.
3. Wait until the main menu page appears and the player stops doing anything, takes a second or 2
4. Press the eject button to open the tray
5. Press the eject button to close the tray.
6. Wait while the player searches for a disc.
7. As soon as the "No Disc" message appears at the top RIGHT corner do the
following.

** You MUST do this BEFORE the 'No Disc' at top right disappears**
(Take your time and do it quickly but calmly, don't pause between button presses, you've got about 5sec) Maybe have someone handle the PLAYER and you handle the remote

8. Press the RETURN button.
9. Enter 76884 on the number pad.
10. The region code "4" (Australian) appears at the top right corner of the screen in a black box
11. Enter a "9" to make the player region free, Only press it once.
12. Press the power button to turn unit off, wait 10sec and turn it on again.
13. Insert a DVD with different region to your own to ensure it worked.

The above definitely works. I have done it about 3 times today , and each time took a few goes, so don't stress.

Ha anche la compatibilitá Dolby Vision? Leggo che non riproduce blu ray 3D, ma si può? Assurdo.

E' riportato "in fondissimo".

umm secondo te vale la pena il cambio da 8500 a questo nuovo ? intendo in performance video , perchè da quello che hai elencato l'unica cosa che mi attira è amazon prime , che nel 8500 non è disponibile

Tutto identico.
Le principali differenze sono le tre elencate.
Mi è capitata una persona cui serviva l'8500.
Il prezzo di questo, che era il modello superiore, era sceso molto.
Ho fatto il cambio.
A livello prestazionale sono identici, a parte le tre principali differenze evidenziate (il telecomando sopra a tutto, fermo restando che con un universale non si hanno problemi) e il fatto che (solo?) per questa serie è previsto l'aggiornamento ad HDR 10+, come riportato nel link di AVMag http://www.avmagazine.it/news/sorgen...500_12741.html

Buongiorno, probabilmente acquisterò il player in questione. Mi sapete dore se ci sono problemi nella lettura di mkv da NAS? Consigliate Kodi o Plex?

Da unieuro è in offerta a 150 euro il modello 8500; cosa ne pensate ?

Sono assolutamente non soddisfatto dal mio attuale LG, il quale è troppo rumoroso e si blocca sin troppo spesso con i 4K della warner

Se nn ti interessa l'Hdr10+(al momento i titoli sono pochi e bisognerà vedere poi quanti ne usciranno) vista la spesa ci farei un pensierino,pensa che io ho ancora il K8500 di 2 anni fa e me lo tengo,per quello che fa va benissimo.

E' un Lg?...mi pare che nn faccia parte del consorzio che lo promuove cioè Samsung Panasonic e i produttori cinesi,nn credo lo sia,forse hai il Dolby Vision,cmq l'Hdr10+ c'è per lo streaming,mi pare Amazon e Netflix in aggiornamento.
